I was raised in a quaint town in New York called Locust Valley by my superhuman parents from Chile. Chile’s the long one in South America known for its wine, baked empanadas, curses (they’re just sassy or is it the Chileans?), and a popular referendum, where voters demanded that the Constitution be written by fellow citizens (with half to be women <3). In the tenth grade, I had the chance to enroll at a private school, where I graduated Cum Laude. I later enrolled at Princeton, where I studied Political Theory and Chinese Language and Culture, and ate a lot of Thomas Sweet Ice Cream, a lot.
I co-founded Neruda Ventures in New York City, where we focus our investments in Latin America. I am a dreamer, and love to see a bean grow into a bean stalk. There’s a dance I do when that happens (Mitski is involved, more recently).
I have served as the Recruitment Chair on the Young Leadership Board of America Needs You, a nonprofit organization that fights for the economic mobility of ambitious, first generation college students. I have also mentored at Built By Girls, an organization that prepares female and non-binary students in college and high school for careers powered by technology.
I drink a lot of tea, eat obscene amounts of chocolate, and love meeting new people. Most of all, I love writing, and I’ve been taken by fiction since I was little, when I publicly read a short story about a utopia of my making (one of those pivotal childhood moments they flash to in movies, where the girl is a bit chunky and carries an electronic dictionary). I live in New York City, I am writing a novel and I am eating many carbs. Have you tried Strawberry Pavlova? It’s a cloud melt in your mouth.
